Joining the international stars in CPL II are a whole host of West Indies international cricketers selected by the six franchises – including Samuel Badree (Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel), Dwayne Smith (Barbados Tridents), Krishmar Santokie (Guyana Amazon Warriors), Andre Russell (Jamaica Tallawahs), Johnson Charles (St. Lucia Zouks), and Sheldon Cottrell (Antigua Hawksbills).

Thursday, 3rd April – Kingston, Jamaica: Kevin Pietersen heads the list of international cricket stars selected by Limacol Caribbean Premier League franchises at today’s Draft held at Chris Gayle’s Triple Century Sports Bar in Kingston, Jamaica. The former England team captain and record run-scorer was drafted by St. Lucia Zouks, and will be joined by the likes of Adam Voges from Australia (Jamaica Tallawahs) and Imran Nazir of Pakistan (Barbados Tridents).

Pakistan will be the best-represented overseas country in CPL, with six players being selected in the draft – Mohammad Hafeez (Guyana Amazon Warriors), Ahmed Shehzad (Jamaica Tallawahs), Nasir Jamshed (Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel), Sohail Tanvir (St. Lucia Zouks), Imran Nazir (Barbados Tridents) and Saeed Ajmal (Antigua Hawksbills).

Also confirmed to play in CPL 2014 will be Martin Guptill from New Zealand (Guyana Amazon Warriors), Kevin O’Brien from Ireland (Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel), David Hussey from Australia (Antigua Hawksbills), Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh (Barbados Tridents) and Roelof Van der Merwe from South Africa ( St. Lucia Zouks).

Kevin Pietersen, St. Lucia Zouks batsman, said:
"I’m delighted to have signed for St. Lucia Zouks and I’m excited to play in the CPL. The Caribbean is one of my favourite places to play because it's a very entertaining, relaxing, enjoyable environment and that's the kind of environment I think I perform best in."

Samuel Badree, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel spinner, said:
“I’m thrilled to have re-signed for the Red Steel and I’m looking forward to teaming up with Dwayne (Bravo) and Ross (Taylor) again. There’s nothing better than playing in front of a packed house of excited Caribbean fans, and they’re going to love watching the guys who have been drafted today.”
