Shoab Malik is a team-player like no other. Other than taking on the role of wicket-keeper, he has performed all roles on the cricket field. He has been shifted up and down the batting order, and also filled in with his handy off-spinners in different parts of the game. Malik’s best has always been in the shorter forms of the game, doing especially well against Pakistan’s arch-rivals, India. His top three scores in ODIs have all come against them, one of them includes a century in the 2009 Champions Trophy. His understanding of the game, hailed by former Pakistani coach Bob Wolmer, proved vital in Pakistan lifting the Champions Trophy in 2017. Apart from representing the Tridents in the CPL, Malik has played for Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL and also Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
