An elegant left-handed wicket-keeping batsman, Kumar Sangakkara would find himself in most All Time XIs, and rightly so. He is the joint fastest to 10,000 runs in test matches, sharing the honour with Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, he was also winner of the top ICC honours in 2012, including the Test Cricketer of the Year award. His exploits though don’t end with the longest format of the game, he is one of the few players in world cricket to scale 10,000 runs in both Tests and ODIs. Also, he got the man-of-the-match award for a hard fought half-century in Sri Lanka’s only World T20 triumph in 2014. Sanga’s leadership qualities were sought out by the Hyderabad Franchise in the Indian Premier League, who he led for three seasons till 2012. He was also an integral part of Jamaica Tallawahs side in 2016, which went on to lift the Caribbean Premier League Title.
