Roger Harper

51 year old 6'5 inch Roger Harper is coming back to play and lead Guyana Amazing Warriors in the 2016 CPL.

Harper was a former cricketer himself who played in 3 Cricket World Cups. Starting in 1987 and his last being in 1996 where the West Indies made it to the semi-finals as Harper was the leading West Indian wicket taker in the tournament with 12 wickets and 3rd overall.

Harper was an all-rounder who batted right-handed and bowled off breaks with his right arm; as a player, he recorded 535 runs and 46 wickets in his 25 Tests, and he played 200 first class matches. After his playing career, he became coach, taking over the West Indies team between 2000 and 2003. In 2003 he was the coach for the West Indies team during the 2003 Cricket World Cup in South Africa where the Windies missed out on a spot in the Super 6’s by only two points. After that he was team manager of the West Indies youth team in 2005.

Roger Harper is very patriotic about his place of birth Guyana and he is eagerly anticipating coaching them for another season. Roger Harper, a man on a mission!
